What We Do

Education

Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. The Sikhi Awareness Foundation invests more in education than any other programs. We believe education is the only true long-term strategy to ensuring sustainable change. With education comes the knowledge to change their own and their communities circumstances.

Religious Studies

Sikhism is the world’s 5th largest religion. We focus on Not converting but sustaining the people born into Sikhism to follow the true principles of Sikhism, which is to serve the needy, meditate on Waheguru’s(God) name, Share whatever you have with others. Thus, Sikhi Awareness Foundation has established small Religious schools in various villages throughout Punjab.

House Rebuild & Repair

There are numerous families in India that live on $1 or less a day. In this program of ours, we choose families who are really hit hard economically or the ones who are homeless and/or single parent. So far since we started SAF in 2014, we have successfully rebuilt/repaired 7 houses.

Family Empowerment Self-Sufficiency Project

This is one of our programs that focus on getting a person on its feet. This is a newly adopted program that will eventually be one of our main programs to help people empower. We have created some small businesses for people, in areas they were working as laborer and making next to nothing.

Farmer Suicide Short-Term Rehabilitation For Family

More than 300,000 farmers have killed themselves in India since 1995, which is 1 suicide every 12 hours. Sikhi Awareness Foundation provides short-term relief such as taking on the education of the children of farmer or repairing the house if it’s needed to. In many cases, we have provided water filters, education for children, repaired houses and monthly food allowance for the widow and children.

Monthly Food Allowance

We provide single mothers or old couples with a monthly allowance package each month. This service is for families who have income under $2000/year. Currently we have 17 families in this program.
